History notes that the Provençal hamlet that makes up the heart of Coquillade was built in the 11 th century by Cistercian monks of the Senanque Abbey; the first vineyards were then added two centuries later. Today, Coquillade, which is named after the Eurasian skylark, has evolved into a charming village style hotel with a prime hillside location overlooking the Luberon, surrounded by 42 hectares of vineyards, lavender fields and forest. The property also has a 1,500sqm award-winning Spa, the acclaimed Aureto winery and an exclusive cycling centre.
